A congregational preaching program to propagate
the teachings of Çrémad-Bhägavatam in every town and village.
Lord Çré Caitanya Mahäprabhu declared that Çrémad-Bhägavatam is the spotless sound representation of all Vedic knowledge and history.
Çrémad-Bhägavatam is the literary incarnation of Lord Çré Kåñëa and is therefore nondifferent from Him. Çrémad-Bhägavatam should be worshiped as respectfully as we worship the Lord. Thereby we can derive the ultimate blessings of the Lord through its careful and patient study. As God is all knowledge, all bliss and all perfection, so also is Çrémad-Bhägavatam. One can derive from the study of the Bhägavatam all benefits that are possible to be derived from the personal presence of the Lord. It carries with it all the transcendental blessings of Çré Kåñëa that we can expect from His personal contact.
In his purport to verse SB 5.6.16 Srila Prabhupada writes: “The pastimes of the Supreme Personality of Godhead and His devotees are recorded in Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam so that those who recite these pastimes and listen to them will become purified. Nityaṁ bhāgavata-sevayā (SB 1.2.18). As a matter of principle, devotees should read, speak and hear Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam persistently, twenty-four hours daily if possible.
That is the recommendation of Çré Caitanya Mahāprabhu. Kīrtanīyaḥ sadā hariḥ (CC Adi 17.31). One should either chant the Hare Kṛṣṇa mahā-mantra or read Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam and thereby try to understand the characteristics and instructions of the Supreme Lord Kṛṣṇa. In this way one can become fully aware of the transcendental nature of the Supreme Personality of Godhead. As stated in Bhagavad-gītā, one who knows the transcendental nature of the Lord's birth and activities attains liberation from material bondage and returns to Godhead.”
With the intention of serving the mood and mission of Srila Prabhupada, we have compiled a certified course exclusively based on Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam. This course is essentially for the congregational devotees. It can be conducted anywhere, in Temples, Farm communities, places of congregational gathering or at houses of congregational devotees. Leaders who are willing to conduct this course for their congregation can approach us.
Course Overview: Congregational Leaders along with the devotees will meet weekly. Each meeting will be for minimum three hours wherein one chapter of Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam will be covered. The 3 hour session will include kirtan, reading from Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam, lecture and finally a Q & A section.
Each Canto has been split into different levels. After completion of each level, there will be a “Bhagavata Utsav”. A festival wherein students will be given opportunity to speak, enact dramas, quiz, and get together. Devotees will be given handbook with all assignments, questions and important verses for memorization. They will be evaluated based on their weekly participation and completion of their examination. The leaders will be provided with appropriate notes to prepare for the class. Congregational leaders who are willing to start Bhagavata Vidyalaya in their areas can contact us. This course is absolutely free.
More detailed information can be provided in the Bhagavata Vidyalaya Manual which you will receive once you register with us.
